Late Weekend Recap



My weekend consisted of ....

Friday night : My friend Kassie and I went to a grad party and then we caved in and watched this movie.


It was good to see his beliefs shown through out the movie but its definitely not on my top ten list probably not even on top 50.

Then Saturday I went to my brother's basketball game and something you may not know about me is that I LOVE taking sport shots especially of my siblings so it was fun to watch my brother play but also take pictures


Then Sunday my family and I did see this movie!

It was super good and very inspirational. Its about pro surfer Bethany Hamilton and how she lost her arm to a shark attack. She had to trust God that he had plans to use her with one arm. If you don't have time to see the movie you can check her out at iamsecond.com and she has a 3 minute video clip of her story. I also did some research and found out that the actress who plays her is a Christian along with Dennis Quaid and Carrie Underwood who are also in the movie.

Monday; Memorial Day!! Went over to my aunts house to have a barbecue and hang with my cousins. We found out the next day that my cousin April passed her Counseling Exam; i think its called a boards test. So Congrats to her !! And then you can see that everyone was wiped out from all the good food we had.

I will conclude with what I have been learning in my walk with God. Its not about me!!! Its not about the things God gives me. I will admit that yesterday I was acting like a baby toward God. I didn't want to spend time with Him because he hadn't provided a job for me yet. But then I was convicted by the Holy Spirit that if I only spend time with my Heavenly Father when he gives me things, I have a very shallow relationship with Him and when he comes again, its not going to be about the things I have; its going to be about if I have given him glory and if people saw Him through me. I have been going through Steph's devo at sharingthepagesoflife.com ( you should check it out) and God has just been showing me through the devo book that I need to ask myself have I been giving Him glory?

I know it has been a long time since I have written but like i have been saying in my last few posts, college has kept me busy and since I don't have homework tonight, I can come back and blog a little. I will just kinda update you whats going on in my life. Well lets see the semester is coming to an end wohoo!!! just one more week left and then next semester I won't have any more 8 o clock classes which will be SUPER nice. I know I have been in and out in blog world but I have been really busy here at college and I am loving it. But I also have been learning alot and growing in my relationship with God. But its hasn't always been happy joyful times in my walk with God. God has put this story on my heart to share with you guys. So i am going to and sorry there won't be many pictures. Ok so as you know college is EXPENSIVE, especially a private Christian college. Anyways, I did recieve some scholarships and feel very blessed that I did but the plan was I would get an on campus job to cover the other expenses that the scholarships didn't, like room and board. So in the beginning of the year there were all these job openings, and i applied to many of them such as working in the student billing office, finacial aid office,newspaper etc But I didn't get any interviews and they became filled. Step

Every Monday and Wednesday I have a step aerobics class at North Hennepin. Its actually a lot of fun. But yesterday as i was doing the steps, I felt like in a way I can compare step to my walk with God. When I was doing step I felt like I was just going through the motions. Step up with right foot, step down with left.. and so on. Sometime my walk with God can feel like that. get up , go to school, come home, go to work, do homework, then quiet time with God, then get up the next day and do the same thing all over again. I felt like i was just going through the motions.
