Protection

13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.
Ephesians 6:13-18
I am back blogging as consistently as I can thanks to a talk with Steph.

So this was a passage that was in my devotions today. And the thing is I have heard this passage many times before but I never took the time to focus on what it means and why we need to put on the armor of God.
This passage is talking about putting on the armor of God like the breastplate of righteousness, belt of truth, helmet of salvation, sword of the spirit and the shield of faith. But there is a reason we need to put this stuff on. We have an enemy as followers of Christ and his name is Satan.
He will try to do whatever he can to get to stop following God and walking with the Spirit.

The only way we can not fall into temptation is by standing firm and putting on the armor of God.
The thing I didn't realize though was God loved us so much that He tailored this armor for us.
We are his children and he wants to protect us from Satan so he gives us this armor and is with us every step of the way but this armor is not one time thing; we need to put on this armor every day. Its a choice and if we want to be protected we must put STAND FIRM and put on the armor that God has customized for us.
